Watch: 3 new electric trucks announced at ACT Expo

Anaheim, California, last week was the place to be for the latest news in the clean transportation industry. Three new new electric trucks were announced at ACT Expo 2023, the largest and most comprehensive assembly of advanced technology commercial vehicles. Among the new trucks making their debut were the Rizon family of trucks, the Freightliner eM2 and the Lion5. All of these are battery electric vehicles are equipped with the latest technology in the zero-emission vehicle market.

Unlike other trucks in ACT Expo's Ride and Drive, Walmart did not haul its truck to last week's event but instead was able to drive the truck with Cummins new X15N natural gas engine from Indiana to Anaheim, California thanks to access to compressed natural gas stations along the way. 'That says a lot,' said Cummins manager of global regulatory affairs Tom Swenson.

Walmart is pleased with a pilot it entered with Cummins to test its new X15N natural gas engine and sees it as an ideal fit for long haul where all-electric and fuel cell fall far short on range.
